Playful Strides
Group Programs
Playful Strides Therapy offers group programs throughout the year. The needs of the community dictate what programs are running at any time. Group programs follow the school year, with up to 8 children together for 8 1-hour sessions. Each group listed below is currently running. New groups are formed when there are greater than 3 children ready to work together on a skill. Occupational Therapy groups are available for children 4 years and older. Physiotherapy groups are available for children 8 years and older. We also run parent/child and Parent only groups. To be successful in a group, a child should be able to:
- follow a structured routine independently with supports in place.
- work with at least one other child on a common task
All children who are in groups have been placed based on their skill and fit for the group. An assessment is key for best fit and success in our groups

Focus: Occupational Therapy group to supports self-regulation, social thinking & emotional regulation goals in a group setting for children who are working on group and recess skills.
Ages: Elementary School

Focus: Occupational Therapy group which supports building correct foundational hand skills required for printing including all upper and lowercase letters.

Focus: Occupational Therapy group to support letter formation, neatness & legibility to master printing skills to the sentence level.

Focus: Physiotherapy parent/child group for children who are neurodiverse, working on community fitness and gross motor skill development.

Cost: Yearly attendance, $67.50/session, paid in monthly membership

Focus: Occupational Therapy group for parents/children with eating challenges. This 8 week group builds strategies to support peaceful meals at home.
When: Saturdays Nov 11 to Dec 16th 12:30 to 1:30

Focus: Occupational Therapy group for children who are ready to build new skills with eating This 8 week group teaches strategies to manage food at home and community. This is a child only group, with information provided to the parents at the end of sessions.

Playful Strides
Camp Programs
Playful Strides Therapy runs group intensive programs, called Camps at all school breaks. These programs are either ½ or full day. Children are successful in these programs when they can follow a larger group with support in place. Some of our summer programs are set up for children who require a higher degree of adult support. Speak to our therapists about your child’s best fit in our camps.
